Our mission for 2012 and beyond
- To ensure that all members of Cheshire Forest aged 14-26 years, are aware of the vast range of opportunities, events, awards and qualifications available to them as a Senior Section member
- To ensure that Young Leaders are valued and provided with a good level of support within units
What will be covered in the information evenings?
- Senior Section Demystified – clarification of the term ‘Senior Section’ and the kinds of opportunities available to Senior Section members
- The role of a Young Leader within a unit and recruiting YL’s
- Supporting Young Leaders to begin and complete the Young Leader Qualification
- Ensuring SS members and Young Leaders are registered with the correct roles on GO
- Transition resources – preparing girls to move on to the next section
Who should attend the information evenings?
- Division & District Commissioners
- Leaders of all sections
Why? So that…
- Leaders can gain an understanding of what Senior Section is and the kinds of opportunities available to members of this section
- Leaders can inform Guides about moving on to the next section
- Leaders can find out about the ‘Move On Up’ transition resources to aid transitions
- Leaders can find out how to support Young Leaders working with a R/B/G unit
- Leaders understand the process for girls starting the Young Leader Qualification & continuing on to the Adult Leader Qualification—includes looking at recording this on GO!
- If you don’t have any Young Leaders working with your unit, you can find out what Young Leaders do and how you can recruit them
- You can help us by passing on information to the relevant people in your Division / District / Unit
