Beyond the Meeting Place – County Weekend

Date: 22nd Feb 2023 Author: Scout Websites

Join us for our county weekend! This year we will be discovering ways to develop our programme beyond the meeting place (to support those without outdoor meeting spaces) and sharing new ways to bring the outside inside.

Sessions will include inclusion in the out of doors; cooking (indoors and outside); archery; how to manage challenging behaviour; crafting; recruiting and retaining adults and girls; the Promise; supporting Young Leaders; A Safe Space; the Leadership Development Programme; First Response; and Going Away With (international module).

We will also have evening entertainment, and there is a residential option.

Costs:

  • £15 per day (including lunch),
  • £7.50 per half day (no lunch)
  • Residential option: £35 per person including Saturday lunch, dinner, Sunday breakfast and lunch either indoors or outdoors at The Lookout.
  • This is a great opportunity to meet with others from the county and share ideas for making experiences for girls in Cheshire Forest even better. As this is a training event, the cost can be met from unit funds.

To book: Complete the Eventbrite form here. If you wish to pay by cheque rather than debit card, please email training@cheshireforest.org.uk. If you would like to attend but your unit is unable to support you financially to do so, please contact finance@cheshireforest.org.uk.

Girls take what they do in guiding with them as they grow up. Everything from working in a team, to taking the lead, to speaking out on issues they care about. It helps them develop the skills and confidence to become the young women they want to be. ’
