County Celebration Event 2024

Date: 29th Jan 2024 Author: Scout Websites

We were delighted to celebrate Long Service awards and share memories from a year of guiding in Cheshire Forest County yesterday, 28th January.

Recipients of Long Service awards this year have given a total of 1405 incredible years of service to Girlguiding. As well as giving badges, certificates and our thanks to the recipients of awards we heard reports from three international trips attended by Cheshire Forest Members, meaning that we heard stories from trips to Norway, Canada and Lisbon.

Attendees were joined by Girlguiding North West England Chief Commissioner Julie Walton, who presented Louise Fairclough with her hard-earned Queen’s Guide award. County also thanked Julie for her time served as Region Chief, as she is coming to the end of her tenure.

Some photos from the event are shared here. If you have photos you would like to add to this page, please send them to website@cheshireforest.org.uk.

Girls take what they do in guiding with them as they grow up. Everything from working in a team, to taking the lead, to speaking out on issues they care about. It helps them develop the skills and confidence to become the young women they want to be. ’
