Splash Days 2025

Date: 17th Dec 2024 Author: Sue Clough

We are very pleased to be able to offer Splash Days once again for 2025.

– 18th May
– 1st June
– 13th July

We would like to add another date but have currently not found one where both the site and required skilled volunteers are available.

Overview
Venue: Tatton Park Water Centre
Time: 9.45am-4pm
Cost: £30 per participant.

Participants must be able to swim 50m and stay afloat for 5 minutes.
Girls must be accompanied by appropriate ratios of adult leaders with a designated adult to hold emergency contact details and permission forms.

These days are open to all Cheshire Border and Cheshire Forest Brownies, Guides and Rangers.

These days are for water based activities including:- Sailing, Kayaking, Katakanu, Bell-Boating and some land based activities, depending on weather conditions on the day.

We expect that the demand for Splash Day places will be much more than the what we can offer.
So the process will be:
– Priority to Units who did not attend a 2024 Splash day will be offered places
– Then to available Units who attended in 2024 to bring girls who did not attend in 2024
– Only Units in Cheshire Border or Cheshire Forest may apply
– The places will be partitioned in a reasonable way between Cheshire Border and Cheshire Forest Units

This year there will be a multi stage process

1. Entry to the draw for places
– Link: https://forms.office.com/e/w0hbA2E9hh
– Closes on 26th January
– Places are NOT transferable between Units. Unless multiple Units apply as 1
– Units are likely to be offered a maximum of 12 places.
– If a Unit fills in the form multiple times only the last submission will be considered.

2. Draw for Units who can apply for each date will be on the 28th January
– All applicants will be notified by email.
– The results will be published on the County websites

3. Units to apply for places by 28th February
– Place are to be paid for at this point.
– Places applied for at this point are non refundable unless a replacement is found
– Places can not be transferred to another Unit except by the Splash Day team
– If the Splash Day has to be cancelled Units will receive a full refund

4. Full information including kit list and parking passes to be emailed to Units a few weeks before the date

Girls take what they do in guiding with them as they grow up. Everything from working in a team, to taking the lead, to speaking out on issues they care about. It helps them develop the skills and confidence to become the young women they want to be. ’
