Cheshire Forest County Trips
Young Members
Each year the County runs an international trip which takes place during the summer holidays. These trips are community focused and may include meeting local Guides in the country you visit, or UK International Camps.
At county IntOps selection weekend we also selected members to go up to Region selection; where they have an opportunity to go on a Region trip or a Region ICE trip. ICE, International Community Experience, trips being for members 11-13 at the time of travel.
Members 11-18 at the time of travel can apply for an international opportunity via IntOps.
Adult Leaders
Adult leaders also have the opportunity to apply to be a leader on a County trip. This involves planning and leading the trip alongside another leaders. Leaders will also need to meet with the county trip unit, organising briefing weekends to help advise with things such as fundraising and facilitate times to allow the group to get to know each other before the event. Look out for the international information evenings to find out more!
Adult Leaders: Region Trips
Adult leaders also can apply to be a leader on a Region trip. Details will be posted on the Girlguiding North West England website as they become available.
Fundraising
Participants on all county or region trips engage in fundraising activities to help fund the cost of the trip. Please support their events when you see them advertised!

Participants on trips current trips are offering to run activities at your unit meeting in return for a donation to their fundraising. Contact international@cheshireforest.org.uk to request this.
People who have returned from international trips would love to come and do a talk at your unit or meeting, to tell you all about what they did – maybe they will inspire you or your girls to go on a future trip! Contact international@cheshireforest.org.uk to request this.

WAGGGS
Girlguiding is a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) which is the global umbrella organisation for Guides and Girl Scouts. It represents over 11 million girls and young women across 153 countries.
WAGGGS has many teams of volunteers all over the world – adult members from national Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting associations who support international projects and leadership initiatives. In order to apply to join one of these teams, you first need to join the global volunteer pool. In order to join the volunteer pool, you need to complete an application and have it endorsed by Girlguiding UK. You can read more about the requirements and find the application form here.
